I know ebeg posts fucking blow and I hate having to make this but this is so important. Shit ass Banfield (PetSmart) vet said not to worry about it a few months back, and I was dumb enough to trust them, but it just got worse without any of us knowing. We got him to the vet a few days ago, the only place we could get an appointment was the Petco vet, nowhere else in the whole city could take new patients for weeks and I called dozens of places. I thought that he had a cavity but the vet told us he has some pretty nasty gum disease due to a tooth he’d injured as a puppy that never healed right. Unfortunately it’s more dangerous than a cavity. Thank god he got prescribed some antibiotics and painkillers but they cost hundreds, which alongside the vet appointment itself and two cans of wet food daily because he won’t eat kibble, adds up FAST. We’re probably about $500 into this thing and it’s only the beginning. He has a follow up evaluation after this course of antibiotics and the vet says they’ll most likely have to schedule surgery, which means intubation, anesthesia, and quadruple digit prices. I have shit credit and couldn’t get a loan for this if I tried. It’s between saving our dog from permanent damage and potentially death and paying rent this month, and even then we might not be able to afford the surgery. Okay, enough doom and gloom and misery, look at his silly face again.
